What is Dordle?

Two Wordles. One guess list. Seven tries.

Dordle is the double wordle variant that puts two secret 5-letter words side-by-side on one screen. Every guess you type is scored against both boards simultaneously — so a single letter can be green on one grid and gray on the other.

If Classic Wordle feels too comfortable, Dordle raises the stakes without jumping straight to four boards. You still type one word at a time, but you must track two independent answer sets and seven shared guesses to clear both puzzles. It is the natural next step after mastering the single-board format.

Dordle rewards players who can split attention across two words without mixing constraints. Solvers often finish one board early, then burn remaining attempts on the stubborn twin. Pair it with Classic Wordle for warm-ups, or graduate to Quordle when two words feel easy.

Play Dordle free in your browser whenever you want a double wordle session that still fits a coffee break. Prefer reverse logic after you clear both boards? Jump to Unwordle, or rearrange letters on Waffle for a spatial cooldown.

How to Play Dordle

Dordle uses the same green / yellow / gray feedback as Wordle, but every typed guess updates both boards at once. Plan accordingly.

  • Watch both boards side-by-side

Left and right panels each hide a different word. Your guess paints color feedback on both grids simultaneously.

    Use dual feedback wisely

A letter can be green on one board and absent on the other. Keep separate mental constraint lists — never assume a gray on the left applies to the right.

  • Solve two words in 7 guesses

Clear either board when its row goes all green, then focus remaining attempts on the harder word. Running out of guesses with one board unsolved ends the game.

Dordle vs Classic Wordle

Dordle is essentially double wordle — same tile rules, twice the boards, one extra guess. Compare the two formats below, or try the reverse twist at Unwordle and the swap puzzle at Waffle.

Tips & Strategies

Open broad, then split focus

Your first two Dordle guesses should maximize unique letters across both boards. Once one side is nearly solved, switch from information-gathering words to dedicated solving guesses for the remaining word.

Budget your 7th guess

Never burn your final attempt on a probe. Clearing the easier of the two words by guess five or six is fine — as long as guess seven can finish the tougher board. Track which side needs more letters locked.

Don't mix board constraints

In Dordle, a yellow on the left board only constrains the left word. Treat each grid as its own puzzle that happens to share your guess list. This discipline separates consistent Dordle winners from lucky ones.
